Roosevelt is the pinnacle neighborhood of Downtown Phoenix. It was named the original “Streetcar” neighborhood and earned the title of Phoenix’s 1st historic district. This community was built from 1893 to 1930 in many stages. There are over 1,000 homes and architecture consists of Craftsman Bungalows, English Cottage Tudor Revivals, American Colonials, Spanish Colonials, Pueblo Revivals and Ranch styles. These are large homes built on narrow, deep lots. The average size is 1,700 to 3,000 square feet, with 3-4 bedrooms and several bathrooms. Most homes are grand Bungalows with large wrap-around porches, exquisite wood doors, glass door knobs, large closets, beautiful built-ins, wood ceiling beams and large attics, which can be converted into living spaces.
