East Alvarado is one of the smallest historic neighborhoods in Phoenix. Built from 1937 to 1942, these 30 homes stretch only one block. The average home in this area has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which range from a cozy 900 square feet up to an abundant 3,500 square feet. When the Federal Housing Administration began to require more uniform house designs, Ranch architecture became the predominant style of home here. However, you can find several period revivals that were popular at the time, including Tudor Revivals and Spanish Colonial Revivals. Apartments are also available in this neighborhood as well.
