Historic Phoenix Architecture

The Valley of the Sun is filled with incredible architecture, culture, and community.

Historic Phoenix Architecture

There are 12 primary historic architecture styles in Phoenix that are presented in pure form and are also combined together to create one-of-a-kind homes. The powerful foundation of Native American and Spanish architecture guided the creation of communities in Phoenix. In 1880, leaders and developers began to build a variety of architectural styles. This area thrived economically while many parts of the country were struggling. Homes with grand architecture were built to distinguish Phoenix from the cowboy "West" and attract affluent residents. The results are astounding, with a wide range of architectural styles inspired from cultures around the world.
